Join Us in Standing Together in the Wake of the Los Angeles Fires
By Pacific Merchant Shipping Association
Disasters test the strength of our communities. And the fires that impacted the greater Los Angeles community this month have been among the largest tests ever, but they have shown us how resilience and compassion can shine through even the darkest smoke.
Our hearts and thoughts go out to everyone affected by these devastating events. From those who have lost their homes and businesses to families mourning loved ones, PMSA stands with you, our neighbors, coworkers, and colleagues across Southern California. While we are so very thankful that none of our staff has been directly impacted, almost all of us have family and friends that are looking for new homes, new schools, and wondering what comes next. It is truly moments like these that remind us that our true strength lies in the solidarity and compassion of community.
We are asking that those who are able to, to please join us in contributing to relief efforts, partnering with organizations to ensure meaningful support reaches those in need, and to ensure that while this disaster has defied anything we could have prepared for, we will be better prepared for these disasters in the future.
California’s wildfire season continues to impact countless lives, but you can help make a difference. Support the California Wildfire Recovery Fund to provide immediate relief and long-term recovery for affected communities. Additionally, empower our first responders by donating to the LAFD Foundation, helping the Los Angeles Fire Department protect lives, property, and neighborhoods. Your contribution brings hope and recovery to those in need.
As we take a step back from our daily focus, we’re reminded that our work and our lives are deeply connected to a system which is resilient in many respects but fragile in others. In times like these, it’s about lifting each other up and showing that we’re here for one another, while honoring the resilience of those affected and the heroism of those who have stepped up to help. Together, we can rebuild, support, and heal—because no one should face this alone.
We thank everyone in advance for your assistance, patience, and compassion for the tens of thousands of our Southern California neighbors that have been impacted.
